Frequently Asked Questions

Adopting a dog is an exciting process and many people have questions before they get started. Here are some of the most common questions we come across:

I live in a condo/apartment, can I adopt a dog from you?

Yes, we do adopt to people living in condos or apartment buildings. Our goal is to find the best suited home for each dog that comes into care. Some dogs are suited to life in an apartment or condo, while others need access to a yard or would do better without sharing a wall with neighbours.

I'm a senior citizen, can I adopt a dog from you?

Yes, we do adopt to seniors. Our goal is to find the best suited home for each dog that comes into care. We take a fulsome approach to assessing and finding the absolute best fit for each and every dog.

I have young kids, can I adopt a dog from you?

Yes, we do adopt to homes with children. We specify in our adoption write-ups for each dog what age children they are a fit for. This is to ensure the safety and happiness of the dog and their adoptive family.

I work full time away from home, can I adopt a dog from you?

Yes, we do adopt to people who have regular working hours away from home.

Do you ever have non-shedding dogs for adoption?

Non-shedding dogs do not come into care often. When they do, we get LOTS of applications. As the dogs we rescue come from shelters, we cannot guarantee their breeds, that they are hypoallergenic, or that they do not shed. Please do not apply ahead of time if you are ONLY interested in a non-shedding dog.
